WEEK 5 @ BHLAC

It was another perfect day on Sunday at Hagenauer Reserve. We had over 260 athletes competing and there was a staggering 517 personal bests achieved. An extraordinary result for so early in the season and great to see so many athletes not only enjoying our program but achieving some great achievements personally.

Congratulations to our Centre athletes that competed at the Athletics Victoria All Schools Championships over the last two weekends. We have a number of athletes that have qualified for the Victorian Team at the All Schools National Championships in Adelaide in December. Congratulations to everyone that competed and good luck to those heading to Adelaide next month.

This week we focus our attention to the State Combined Championships at Lakeside. This is a multi-event competition for athletes between the age of U9 through to U17. With a large number of athletes and parents at this event there is no Little Athletics this Sunday at Hagenauer Reserve. 

The following week is our biggest fund raiser of the year and one of our favourite events on the Little Athletics Calendar. The Box Hill Relay Day is a fantastic carnival event and one that we encourage as many Box Hill Families to participate in. With over 1500 people generally in attendance we will need as many helpers from the club as possible. Please look out for the duty roster over the next day or so and help the club put on a successful event. With special guests, Australian track heroes Georgia Griffiths and Stewart McSweyn coming to meet everyone it will be an event you won't want to miss. 

BOX HILL RELAY DAY 2022

We are extremely fortunate to have two of our most popular Australian Athletes come and visit us at the Box Hill Relay Day. Our very own Box Hill star Georgia Griffith and a regular visitor to Hagenauer Reserve the great Stewart McSweyn.
Come and meet them both at the Box Hill Relay Day on Sunday November 2o. 

If you haven't spoken to your Age Group Manager yet please do so over the coming week as we must have all our teams secured by this week. 

This is BHLAC's major fund raising event of the season and the highlight for most on the LAVic season calendar.

Training at BHLAC - This Wednesday

It is important to plan for coaches for Wednesday's BHLAC training session. If you have any questions or specific training requests please talk to our Head Coach Steve Cain at the start of the session. 

Whilst the session is an open session to all athletes, we do try and accommodate requests as best we can.

The focus on training this week will be for athletes competing at the State Combined Championships this weekend AND Relay training for the broader group that needs some relay practice and coaching.

Communication at BHLAC is a key pillar to our success as a centre.
TeamApp by Stack Sports is the most effective communication tool we use. By using TeamApp we can instantaneously send messages to all members via their smart phone.
