Week 8 at Hagenauer Reserve was definitely a hot one. The decision to move the program to a 9am start was the right decision as the temperature hit almost 35 degrees at 4pm. Whilst it was still very warm the morning the venue had a great atmosphere. It just shows that with a good team for set up and a smooth running of the schedule we can get through it in great time. Pack up was complete by 11am and everyone was off enjoying their Sunday afternoon for a change with their families and friends. There has been a significant number of parents that have not only commended the BHLAC Committee for moving the program to this morning but whether moving the program to Sunday morning is something we would consider as a permanent fixture. Whilst there are pros & cons for both the morning and afternoon sessions, ultimately it is something we as members need to explore further. Over the coming weeks the committee will seek a response from each member to gauge their opinion as to what they would prefer. Once we receive the results the Committee will review and make some decisions for 2022/23 and beyond. Maybe we move to Sunday mornings, maybe we stick with afternoons. Perhaps we do afternoons until the Christmas break up and then mornings from January when the weather gets hotter? In any case it is up to all of us to decide the future of the club. We do thank you all the parents and athletes that participated today and we wish everyone good luck next weekend who are competing at the LAVic State Multi event next weekend. A reminder to everyone that there is no program next weekend due to State Multis. Our next program meet which will be Program C will be Sunday 6th February. Have a great week. Season CalendarThe next month will be very busy for our athletes. The State Multi Event followed by the Regional Track & Field Championships at Knox mid February will interrupt our weekly program. Our club Secretary Rajinder Atwol has been an amazing asset to BHLAC however it is time for her to hand over the reins to someone new. We are looking for a new Club Secretary to take over from Rajinder. This role primarily prepares the club in the new season for affiliation and is the connection between the club and Little Athletics Victoria. If you would like to help our club and you and feel you would be able to assist please contact Rajinder directly to the club email at [email protected] We are also looking for a Cross Country Team Manager for the upcoming season. If you have children that will be competing in the Cross Country Season this year we would greatly appreciate you nominating to be the Team Manager. There is not too much involved and would have the support of the Committee.
